In 2010, Tritoan picked up his first camera and began his journey as a freelance photographer. His sister was the one who wanted to pursue photography but did not have the means to buy a DSLR camera, so she insisted he go halves with her. The moment he laid his hands on it, he knew instantly that this is what he wanted to do. He started off shooting portraits which quickly evolved into photographing fashion and editorials, working with some of the leading modelling agencies in NZ. He would pursue this for another 5 years until he discovered tattooing.
2015 is when Tritoan discovered his new passion. He did not have any formal training or apprenticing. It all began when his life-long friend encouraged him to give tattooing a go as he knew Tritoan had a natural talent for art. He bravely sacrificed his skin so Tritoan could practice. He became so obsessed with tattooing that he began to practice on himself. Soon the word got out and he was able to start building his own portfolio tattooing.
Shortly after 6 months of tattooing, Tritoan was invited to work within a studio based in Auckland city. He was ecstatic to be offered this opportunity which would allow him to learn from other well-established artists and allowed him to get a taste of what the tattoo industry is truly about. During this time, Tritoan was able to create his own style which is known today as fine line florals. He honed his craft which slowly caught everyones attention as this style was not seen at the time. After being with the studio for just one year and building his own clientele, he decided it was time to branch off and open his own studio.
He moved out of his apartment, sold all his photography equipment, motorbike and car just so he could afford to open his new shop. Basically he was homeless. This would later pay off as Seventh Day Studio quickly became one of the most prestigious studios, housing some of the best artists in New Zealand. As of now, Tritoan has been tattooing for 7 years. His work is internationally recognisable and many clients travel from all around the world to obtain an original art piece.
